According to reports, more are turning to prayer when sick.
It seems that if you’re one of those individuals that pray when you’re sick you have more company than you used too. At least that’s what reporter, Bronislaus B. Kush, published in a recent article in the Telegram & Gazette. The study, which was published by the American Psychological Association, showed that the percentage of people who turn to prayer because of health concerns increased by 36 percent between 1999 and 2007.
In the past, it seems that there were always qualifying data indicating that those who prayed about their health were not a broad based cross section of the population. However this study indicated otherwise. Amy B. Wachholtz, an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the lead author of the study, stated that even though there was more care assessable as a result of recent health insurance reforms, people are still banking on prayer to help them with their medical issues.Continue Reading
