It’s been coming for a long time – in fact ever since Jesus first raised the dead and healed the sick – the view that health is not a condition of matter, but of mind. What’s so interesting about the survey discussed in The Christian Science Monitor‘s “What Americans Mean by ‘Health'” is that concepts of health are now being incorporated in pretty much every aspect of life, with some key phrases in business being “wellness” and “restorative.” People are changing they way they think about their health and this is also changing how they they maintain and pursue health. Mary Baker Eddy, spiritual thinker and the founder of Christian Science, introduced her seminal book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, with these words, “The time for thinkers has come. Truth, independent of doctrines and time-honored systems, knocks at the portal of humanity. Contentment with the past and the cold conventionality of materialism are crumbling away.” What people may or may not realize is that crumbling contentment for materialism is a direct result of spiritual growth and yearning to connect with their Father-Mother God. Are you ready for a shift in thought away from matter?
