I wanted to share the legislative activity both at the state and federal level for the Committee on Publication. At the federal level, individuals and resources from the Committee’s Legislative Division and the Federal Office are now consolidating under one (virtual) roof as the Government Relations Division. The goal of this new design is to offer solid support to the governmental activity of U.S. State Committees on Publication, while simultaneously strengthening the Committee’s overall efforts and providing fresh, new support to international Committees on Publication and their governmental activity.

The most recent contact from the federal Government Relations Division of the Committee on Publication was to request the names of church members acquainted with members of Congress who are representing the area where local church members reside. To help with this effort, I am requesting information from readers – many church members have already responded back. Please email me directly with this information.

At the state level, 2308 bills have been introduced for the 2013-2014 legislative session. February 22nd was the last day for bills to be introduced. I will continue to monitor bills as they go through the legislative process.
