What a wonderful story and better yet, what a wonderful example of loving our neighbor. Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science has given her church 6 religious tenets to live by and the sixth one to me really covers all the rest…it reads, “And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure.” I think if all men, everywhere, were true to this statement (this tenet) hatred, fighting and wars would cease to exist and our world would be a better place to live in. Jim may or may not have been a Christian Scientist, but he certainly lived that tenet. Thanks, Steve, for sharing this with us. It made my day!
